This construction site has been a challenge. After dealing with numerous delays that involved management having to find housing accommodations for renters, the apartments were finally ready more than a month late. The leasing agency, however, is still needing to offer incentives to keep renters happy. With none of the amenities in place, in fact, it is a little like putting out fires every day in an effort to keep the few renters who have agreed to move in, despite the fact that there is no mail and there is no only one elevator is working.

Any delays that are longer than a day or two can prove problematic for most renters. As a result, if contractor problems or weather prevent a leasing company from having a property ready on time it is important to reward future residents who have the patience to deal with the construction delays and for sticking with the property throughout the process. A leasing company may truly believe that will really enjoy their experience living at a new property, but when move in delays occur, they are at risk of not only losing current residents, but also the bad publicity from those disgruntled customers.
