We’re all familiar with how the Jeffersons moved on up to the East side, in that deluxe apartment in the sky. This premise was controversial at that time, as many people considered the American dream to be owning a house in the suburbs with a pearly-white picket fence, green lawns free of weeds, a well-behaved dog, 2.5 kids, and a stay-at-home wife who spent all day preparing gourmet meals. Oh how times have changed!
There are many misconceptions regarding city living. Many people assume luxury living comes with a hefty price tag, and that luxury apartment rentals are out of their budget. This couldn’t be farther from the truth! Here are 3 myths about luxury living that are from the truth.
It’s too expensive
This is perhaps the most common and is farthest from reality. Sure there are several luxurious apartments and penthouse suites rented by celebrities who are able to drop $20,000 a month for their rent. However, there are also a plethora of luxury rentals available for affordable monthly rates that the average person can easily afford. In fact, renting is much more cost-effective option to owning a home. Following the economic crash of 2007, many owners left their suburbanite homes (and white picket fences) in favor of luxury living in the city.
It’s not convenient
When you own a home and your water heater breaks, who is responsible for the repair? You, the homeowner is! Homeowners must pay directly out of pocket for all repairs, all of which can be quite pricey. However, luxury apartments offer onsite maintenance as a convenience to their tenants. Many offer 24 hour service to address any emergency issues. Renters do not have to pay for these repairs out of pocket. Additionally, luxury apartments are conveniently located close to public transit routes, which allows tenants to easily commute back and forth to work as well as run errands. Some tenants even get rid of their cars and rely solely on reliable and affordable public transit.
There’s no privacy
Luxury apartments offer all the convenience of living in and owning a home without all the hassles and responsibilities. These rentals offer high-end amenities, modern appliances, as well as sophisticated, stylish, and spacious interiors. Walls are thick, and many tenants cannot or never hear their neighbors. Privacy is not an issue!
It’s very easy to see why renting is #winning in the rent vs. own debate. The only question that remains is, are you ready to move on up? For more about this, go here: www.postrents.com
